For years I've been an advocate of being open about your foot fetish - not caring what other people think. I firmly believe that the benefits outweigh any ridicule you may endure. The photos above were both sent to me by two of the site's models, Cierra and Chloe . It seems that both girls painted their toes pink this past week. Each one wanted to show their pedicures to someone who would appreciate them, but knowing these two, I am sure the thought of teasing me on the other end of that phone crossed their minds too. In the past, Cierra has sent me photos of her pedicures as well as her tattoo after getting it inked onto her foot. I spent New Years Eve over a friend's house with about 20 or so people. In attendance were three of the site's sole mates and I made sure to hand my camera off to a friend for a picture with all three, as you can see above. The night was pretty tame, which is good as I can't stand stupid drama, or worse yet, stupid drunken drama. Just a few weeks ago it felt like the start of football season. And not too long before that it felt like the start of summer. Before that baseball season was just getting under way. And just a little before that I was debuting the then newest sole mate to the site for New Year's day, Keira . It's hard to believe that 2009 has come and gone so fast. I don't know if I was just that busy and it flew by, or I'm just getting older and don't remember stuff. Probably a bit of both. This past week, however, not so much. Before I get into some news and notes about the site, let me get into this real quick. Last week some of you may have noticed that the site update came about 12 hours later than usual. Here's why. On Monday I had about 25 friends come by for a Monday Night Football party to watch the Ravens play the Browns. Needless to say, I got pretty messed up - more than I have in a really long time. As you can see above, five of the site models made it to the party. This year for Halloween you won't have to worry about any kind of trickery - it's going to be all treats this year... and this is one place the saying, "trick or treat, smell my feet," actually holds true. Let me explain. On Monday, October 12 a coworker finally turned the big one, eight as in 18. Her name is Kayleigh and she has known about the site for some time. A number of the girls at work have posed for me and you know how girls can talk. Well, with this coworker's birthday being in the month of October, I asked her if she wanted to be my Halloween update. Kayleigh agreed and told me she was open to pose on her actual birthday. A couple of weeks ago while I was at work I was payed a visit by a friend and one of the site's sole mates. That sole mate was  Precious . Precious hasn't posed for the site since 2006. As with some others, some things in life came first and we weren't able to get together to do photos. Couple that with us losing touch for a bit of time and here it is three years later and I'm having a chat with her. During my conversation with Precious she informed me that she is willing and able to do some "foot stuff" again for the site. I smiled at the term "stuff" and told her that I was glad to hear that. I've known Mindee for a number of years now. We met when she began working with me. Right away I thought she was a real sweet girl and we hit it off as friends. At the time I was not running Soles of Silk. A few years later, however, I was laying out my plans to do so and was thinking of girls that I knew who I could ask to pose. Mindee was one of those friends. Initially Mindee was reluctant to pose, claiming that her feet were ugly. I made an announcement on the forum over on Wu's Feet Links , but I wanted to make a statement here as well. When I first made the Soles of Silk MySpace page I really liked the interaction that it brought. Over its course, however, I will admit that I was liking it less and less for a number of reasons. Here are the main reasons why: About a year ago Carmen called me all upset because she had gotten an email from someone on MySpace that was included pretty much every curse word made and said that the person sending it was going to find her. Now Carmen never made a MySpace page for her foot modeling. This person was able to find her personal one and it understandably scared her. She did all the things like blocking the person and I even took her off my own friends list in case they found

I found this out the hard way when Cierra and I took a trip downtown to do this year's Ravens themed set for the site. After a cancelled set of photo shoot dates over the weekend I finally caught up with Cierra . We were supposed to get together Saturday night and do several sets and then again Sunday morning for a special themed one. She wasn't able to meet on Saturday and the forecast was calling for rain and storms all day on Sunday, so I said we will just find another day for that too. I talked to Cierra on Sunday and joked about how the rain only lasted through the morning when it was supposed to be an all day thing. She said that if I wanted to shoot Tuesday night, she was open and that if we wanted to, the upcoming Sunday she was available to do the other set too.
