Well, Sunday, July 9, 2017 marks a first for me. Today I shot the site's first ever, mom and daughter combo. I've shot cousins, sisters, even twins, but never a mother and daughter - not even separately. Now I have! Please welcome to the site, Mindee's mom, Shelby . I've known Ms. Shelby for years now. Mindee is one of my best friends and I've always been friendly with her family. Never did I think that one day, 13 years after Mindee modeled for her first ever photos for Soles of Silk , that her mom would one day join the roster too. Better late than never, huh? Saturday evening I exchanged a number of texts with Mindee about today's shoot. I knew some possible themes, but I was honestly drawing a blank. I also didn't know how her mom would react to certain themes, or wearing certain footwear - such as stockings or thigh high socks. I had a bunch of them packed just in case, but like we've done so many times, Mindee said we'll figure it out tomo...

This week is a vacation week for me. It couldn't have come at a better time either. I needed some time off to relax and do some day trips with friends. I didn't really plan many shoots until a day or two before my vacation started though. Melani texted me and asked if I had any open days coming up. I told her that I did and told her July 6, 7, 8, and 10 were all open. We had already talked about shooting on the 10th, but had yet to confirm it. Her response to that list of dates was that she was open all those dates and we should shoot. "Are you asking me to shoot on all those days, or just on one of them?" I playfully asked, thinking she had meant the latter. "I'll shoot all of them," she replied. "If you want." Well now, that gave me something to do other than the day trips I had already planned down to Virginia Beach and to Knoebels. This was shot in front of a very old wooden roller coaster. Today's shoot was a one-off with Jasey Rae . I made mention of those plans in the June 17, 2017 blog, " June News & Notes ." Our goal, and one that we've had for a while now, was to feature a shared passion of ours in one of Jasey's sets. That passion, roller coasters. We both love riding them and have been to a number of parks together. So it was nice to finally get this set in yesterday during a park trip with a large group of our friends. Jasey and I went off on our own upon arrival and tried our best to find the best spots to do this. For the most part, we walked all around the park, looking for areas where park guests were sparse. The sun wasn't always in the best position to line these shots up with the coasters, but being a cloudy day, we just waited for one to fly in front of the sun and block it out. A few days ago Melani reached out to me and asked me if I had any open dates coming up. She has finished up with graduation and all the festivities that come with it and was looking to finally get back in front of the camera. I've been eager to have her, especially since our last shoot had to be nixed about an hour before it was to happen. As you all have read in past blogs, I love shooting with Melani. She is adorable and very fun to be around. Her fondness for the camera is very apparent and my fondness for her feet is as well. They're so small and cute! Anyhow, I came up with a few ideas for new sets with her, but we ended up keeping things simple and local because of what happened in Part 2 of this blog. More on that later. No skipping ahead! Melani and I got started around 1 p.m. today. She brought more clothes than she needed, which is always good so we have options. Once Melani and I were done shooting those two solo sets in Part 1, it was time to make see a "dream come true," if you will. What do I mean? Well, back in April I began the blog series titled, "Dream Duos."
