I'm taking a few minute break here to let everyone know that I am in the midst of making some design changes to Soles of Silk . Truth be told, I really wanted to wait for a total site redesign, but that is on the bucket list right now. Time hasn't been on my side and I need to learn some current web design methods. I learned how to design sites in the early 2000's, so many things have changed. New splash page graphic The first change you'll see upon going to Soles of Silk is the splash page. I always liked the splash graphic featuring Madison and Mindee . But with Madison not having posed in years, I felt a change was due. Mindee , however, is still a big part of this site. Because of that I decided to make sure she was still featured here. Now you just get to see her with her cousin, Marcy . And don't worry, this fun soccer set will be on the site soon! It's been quite a while since I've posted a blog about some of the upcoming shoots that are on the horizon. And even though my original plan was to slow down by September, my upcoming schedule of shoots says otherwise. And if you're wonder why I would be slowing down, let me explain. I've always enjoyed shooting outdoors. While I'm not opposed to indoor sets, I love finding unique locations for my models to pose. I aim to make each and every set as different as possible. Obviously some sets are better off being done indoors, but my preference is to be outside. Since the weather in the Baltimore/D.C. area can tend to get quite cold once winter sets in, I always shoot a bunch of extra sets before the fall. This year, however, I've gone above and beyond shooting enough sets to last through the winter! As you can see by the screen shot above, I current sit on 68 sets - none of which have been posted. I feel like the title of this blog has been used before. Oh wait, it has! Two other times, as a matter of fact. With the move to this blog from the site's former columns section, I've made sure to blog about each and every shoot I've done. Earlier in the year I also stated that I really wanted to do more photos with Ryan than we did in 2012. Well, it looks like I've succeeded with my task. This dark haired beauty posed for three more sets today in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. In the weeks leading up to today's shoot I had been looking around on Google Earth for some unique settings to use . We originally planned on doing four sets, so I found several spots all around Georgetown. Today, however, we ran into a couple of roadblocks and changed up our plans. The first location I had wanted to use was a series of water fountains in the Georgetown Waterfront Park. I anticipated that there would be people here, but from some distance away we could see that the area w

I can always count on Ryan to take great photos whenever we shoot. From her 2011 debut in the Wu's Feetlinks Deadliest Catch feature set, up until today, she just has a presence, and above all else, has fun when in front of the camera. My plan this summer was to try to get Ryan to do more sets than we had done in the past. Last year we only shot three new sets and we've already done that this year with plans to do a lot more next month. If you read the fifth part of the Soles of Silk Model Statuses blog series back in April you might remember what I said about shooting Ryan more often this year. If you've been keeping up with the Soles of Silk Blog you might remember a five part series I did called Soles of Silk Model Statuses (Part 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ). In the fifth part I covered Ryan, who hadn't posed since her Christmas set with Aspen in late 2012 ( Sample 01 / Sample 02 ). In the blog I said, "Why I don't have more photos of Ryan is beyond me," and then added that I aimed to get her in front of my camera more often in 2013. In May I began planning out some shoots ahead of time. When Ryan penciled herself in to shoot on Monday, June 10, it was a day I was looking forward to instantly. We began tossing around ideas and decided it was time for her to finally do her roller coaster themed set.
