It was 10 days ago that Allie and I shot for the first time in three years. If you didn't read that blog, head be sure to check it out, " Tuesday's Shoot - Allie ." Leading up to that shoot, we faced issues with weather and still battled a very cloudy day. We made plans to meet up once again soon after a few things didn't go as planned. Today was that day. It took forever to clean up with putty-like slime after the set was over. She's Been Slimed! One of the sets that Allie and I had planned to do 10 days ago was her upcoming Halloween feature, themed to one of my favorite movies, Ghostbusters. My dumbass forgot the shirt, however, so we had to place it on the back burner until we could meet up again. I managed not to forget it today. It's been three years since I last had Allie and her tiny size 5 feet in front of my camera. Our first shoot came on July 30, 2017, which you can read about in the blog, " Sunday's Shoot - Allie ." We did two sets that day and that was the plan for yesterday too. Well, until I screwed up and forgot to bring one of the props needed for our second theme. Nevertheless, we tried to squeeze in a second set with sneakers, but with the heavy overcast, it was just too dark and gloomy by time we finished our first set. It was 12 days ago when I wrote my first non-update blog in some time. It was titled, " 2020 Has Sucked, But it's Time to Shoot ." In that blog I mentioned that I have reached out to a number of the site's models about setting up some shoots. That very next day, I was able to shoot two amazing sets with Kaycee , which you can also read about in the blog, " Wednesday's Shoot - Kaycee " from August 19, 2020. Well, it took a little bit longer than I had planned, but I got in another shoot today, this time with Ava . It had been two years since our last shoot, so she was long overdue. She, like a few other models who you should see shooting soon, all had to be pushed back due to rain and extreme heat this last week. I told you two days ago that I had plans to shoot Kaycee today, didn't I? I also said how nice it would be to be getting back to posting some blogs about shoots I was out doing again. Well, here I am, fresh off of two amazing sets with Kaycee. Seriously... I love this girl so much and she does some amazing photo for me whenever we get together. Today was no exception! Cierra is one of the models who said she'd be up for shooting again. The year 2020 has been such a drag for obvious reasons and it has taken its toll on me. Between all that and my full time job that I had worked for over two decades, I had never felt so down and out before. I felt dragged down by everything and even got to the point where I felt like updating Soles of Silk each week was a chore. I've never felt that way in the 15-plus years that I have ran this site and I hated it. I've always gotten so much joy out of my shoots, running the site, and interacting with all of you.
