Today is the final day of my nine day vacation. It's back to work tomorrow and I feel like these nine days have a hot mess of changed plans and things not quite working out. Why would today's shoot with Leah be any different? Right off the bat, I want to say that none of what went wrong today was Leah's fault. We just caught some bad breaks and I was legitimately getting angry. Leah kept assuring me all was okay, but it truly made me feel bad. When I drove to her apartment to start the day off, my GPS had no clue which court was hers. I drove past her place and around the bend. I had to double back around and look for Leah, who told me she'd come out and flag me down. I wish that was the worst of the roadblocks we ran into today. I brought a pink nail polish with me that I recently picked up. Leah wanted to use it, so after I picked her up, she went about painting her toes while we talked about some ideas for sets. Several days ago, on Friday, July 6, 2018, I got in my first solo photos of the year with the site's most photographed model, Mindee (see blog: " Friday's Shoot - Mindee "). Today, another one of the site's most photographed models, especially since her 2015 debut, got in her first solo photos of 2018 as well. That model is none other than Alice . In just three years of shooting, Alice has done 33 total sets, if you include today's adventure to Western Maryland. Of those 33, 26 have been solo sets and seven have been two-model sets. Two of those seven came earlier this year when Alice paired her long toes up with Maya's   (see blog: " Sunday's Shoot - Alice & Maya "). Those were the only two sets I got to shoot with her until today, which was also one of my final days of vacation. Can you believe that it's July 6 and today was the first day that I shot solo sets with Mindee in 2018? Had she not teamed up with Reese back in February, these would have been the first photos she did all year (see blog: " Monday's Shoot - Mindee & Reese "). Crazy, huh? Especially when you consider that she shot 40 sets in 2017. Well, if she's looking to reach that mark again, she's got 36 more sets to go and 178 days left to do it. That's one set every 4.9 days. We doing it, Mindee? All kidding aside, this year has been a busy one for Soles of Silk's most photographed model. Between family, work, and every day life, my hard working friend deserves a little bit of a break. Not too long of one though! I have had my vacation from Sunday, July 1 - Monday, July 9, scheduled for months now. In the lead up to this vacation, I was trying my hardest to make some plans to go to another amusement park, or two. That's when Mindee came to my rescue, saying that some of her plans fell through. She wanted to see if I was interested in tagging along with her and her family, and maybe doing going to an amusement park. I was happy and even posted a little shot of Mindee in front of a roller coaster from a past shoot on the site's Instagram ( @SolesofSilk ). Sadly, however, these plans had to be canceled on her side and I was left with absolutely nothing on my plate. So there I was, a blank calendar and a vacation I didn't want to burn.
