Opening the Site's Official Blog

Image
Well, it's 2013 and all the cool kids seem to have blogs. Truth be told, at this time last year I reserved a Blogger.com  account using my old Google  profile from my Android phone. I had hoped to have Soles of Silk redesigned by now and the addition of the blog open with it, but that is not the case. Since I opened Soles of Silk , the site has contained something similar to a blog, if you will, in the Columns section (found inside the members area). With the first column coming on January 1, 2005, it's been a staple of the site since its opening only one week earlier. For all these years the Columns section has been something I've enjoyed doing. It's been a means for me to communicate with everyone who becomes a member. There however, lies the problem. There was no means of communicating through the Columns section with non-members. Probably the best way I've been able to keep in contact with the non-members has been through the site's forum . It's a p...

The Fun of Multi-Model Shoots

Image
I shot three sets with Emerald and Mindee together the day this one was done. The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. Shooting a multi-model is an experience to behold. Getting to see a beautiful barefoot girl before you is a treat, but when you add another model or two... or three, it's something you'll never forget. While coming up with poses isn't always easy, just having that many toes wiggling before you makes it all worth it. One of my biggest goals when doing the multi-model sets for this site is to have friends pose together. While many of the girls I shoot know each other in some fashion, getting ones who know each other well make a shoot memorable. From the time this site opened, there have been shoots with girls who are close with one another. Madison and Lauryn , who almost became sisters-in-law at the time, kicked off the trend with their Schoolgirl Stockings ...

2012 Soles of Silk Trivia Contest Results

Image
The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. Well, another year has gone by and another trivia contest is in the books. The turn out wasn't as good as I expected with having advertised the hell out of it on the Soles of Silk Twitter page. Nevertheless, those of you who took part did pretty well overall. The two 3-month winners both scored a 99/100, so there were no entries this time around that had a perfect score. The five 1-month winners scored a 91, 83, 81, 74, and 71. Those who did not win were still awarded with the five early preview photos from sets of the following models: Olivia , Aliza , Jamie , Nikki , and Aspen . Now onto the correct answers of this year's questions. All answers appear in bold with a percentage of those who got each question correct. 1-Point Questions (5 Total Possible Points) 1. What model posed in a Wu's Feetlinks Feature Model set in 2012? KAYLEIGH (...

Early 2013 Outlook - What's Ahead?

The Ravens are on their way to the Super Bowl. Here is a little team spirit. The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. The first month of 2013 is coming to an end. It's super cold outside, but my Baltimore Ravens are on their way to the Super Bowl - so all is well. So what's on the horizon for 2013 (other than a Ravens Super Bowl win)? I'll answer some of that below as I have a handful of items to go over for all of you here. June 2013 Wu's Feature Model Announced I've known about this for a couple of months now, but I was waiting for Wu to make it official. Soles of Silk will again have one if it's models featured in a Feature Model Gallery on Wu's Feet Links . In June 2013 Aspen will join the likes of: Carmen , Kimmie , Kellie , Madison , Cierra , Mindee , Ryan , and Kayleigh as a Wu's Feet Links Feature Model. Congratulations Aspen! We already have a re...

Old Stuff - What Happened Last Year (Year in Review)

Kayleigh was the first model to pose her feet for some new sets in 2012. The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. So here we are. We made it past December 21 without the world ending. That's a good thing because I shot so much content in 2012 that I have yet to share with you. There are some great plans for 2013's future, but we're not focusing on that right now. What I want to do, is take a look at is some of the highlights of the previous year. So here it is, month by month, some of my favorite moments and highlights of 2012: January The year started off slow with Kayleigh posing for a couple of new sets including her Wine Bottles and Bedtime Book sets. Much like this year's contest, there was not many entries until the final moments of the Soles of Silk Trivia Contest. Wendy and I found some really neat looking spots to shoot some new sets. February Wendy posed...

Shoots of Christmases Past

Image
Talk about 4 presents I'd love to unwrap... The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. This year's Christmas update featuring Ryan and Aspen in their  Red & White Fence Nets is one of the biggest sets ever posted on Soles of Silk. I had been itching to get these two girls together since Aspen's debut in August. They're good friends and I knew they'd bring down the house - and they did just that. With everyone focused on Ryan's and Aspen's size 8 feet this update, I want to also remind all of you new members of the Shoots of Christmas Past, if you will. There have been many other great sets that I've posted for the holidays in years prior. So for all of you who need a little bit more Christmas cheer, check out the following shoots and clips that the Soles of Silk models have done over the years: Photo Sets  Christmas Fencenets w/ Ryan & Asp...

A Taste for Asian

Image
I just find Asian women, like Aliza, to be so exotic. The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. First of all, this column is NOT about Asian food. To be honest, I don't really care for it at all. What this column is about is my soft spot for females of the Asian variety. And while I have a strong attraction to Asian girls, this column is not putting any race over the other. So what is it about Asian girls that gets me going? I don't honestly know. It's like trying to explain why you have an attraction to feet. You just do! And to make matters worse, this attraction has become stronger over the years. It's too bad I don't know any Asian my age since I'm currently single. With as strong of an attraction as I have to Asian girls, I've never dated one. In all honesty I haven't known that many in my age range. College was probably the exception and there was a...

A Contest is Looming

Image
The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. As I've done for the past few years, the first update of the New Year (January 2, 2013), will feature an all new Soles of Silk Trivia Contest. For those of you who are new, or unfamiliar with the contest, I've been doing it for several years now and it gives people a chance to win free membership time in the form of seven (7) prizes. There are two (2) grand prizes of 3 month memberships and then five (5) runner up prizes of 1 month memberships. Both members and non-members are able to win the prizes. The way the contest is scored is as follows. There are five main question groupings. The first group of questions are worth one point each. The second, two points. The third, three points. The fourth, four points. And finally, the fifth, five points. The adds up to 75 points. To make the scoring based off an even 100 points, I have a 25 point bon...

Followers & Feedback: Your Voices

Wendy was one of the first people I shot where I shared set Instagram photos. The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. When I made the Soles of Silk Twitter account ( @SolesofSilk ) a little less than a year ago, I didn't know what to expect. To be honest, I thought it might be a fad and turn out to be just as problematic as the short-lived Soles of Silk MySpace page. It has been neither. As a matter of fact, it has allowed me to reach people that I wasn't getting to before. And in turn, it has also allowed the masses to get in touch with me like never before. For years when I posted an update I always put update samples on the Soles of Silk Forum as well as in the Photos Section of the  Wu's Feet Links Forum . Those have always been amazing ways to communicate with people, and one I continue to utilize today. For the last year now, however, in addition to those forum pos...
