If you told me that I'd wake up today, run a little behind schedule with one of my models, spend most of the day with her, and only come away with two sets to show for it, I just might say that sounds like an unproductive day. Now, if you said that day would be spent with Alice , then I'd know that no matter what shot, and how the day played out, I'd have a blast and come away with two great photo sets. That's what happened today and Alice is who I shot. Alice was finally able to get in some solo sets with me today. The only time she's shot so far this year was when she introduced me to Leah , and the two did a couple of sets together (see blog: " Sunday's Shoot - Alice & Leah "). The plan was to meet around noon, but both of us were a little tired this morning and slept in. Once we were ready to go, we met up and decided to go ahead and do lunch before we began. Last night after work I ran out to a few stores to grab a few things needed for today's shoot. Those things were: a planter, shovel, and ingredients to make dirt cake. Yes, I was finally going to do the theme that has eluded me for all these years in a food play set. It's something I've talked about doing for ages and Kelsey was coming over the next day to do it. When I woke up this morning I decided to go ahead and begin preparing the dirt cake. The directions claimed it could be made and served immediately. I, however, didn't want to chance things not coming out right so I began making it a few hours before Kelsey was set to arrive. Luckily for me too as I ended up having to back out to the grocery store to buy some more ingredients. I didn't have enough to fill the large planter. Back in 2013 I was able to shoot my friend, Jasey Rae for the first time. We did two sets and planned to do more. That didn't exactly happen, however. Well, not until today, almost two years later.  That's right, Jasey Rae is back! She wiggled those plump little toes of hers in front of my wanting eyes and camera for five sets today and I would have gladly shot more had we more sunlight. Here is a recap of this awesome day. The day started off around 10 a.m. when I picked up Jasey so she could get her toes painted. She asked me what color I wanted her to wear, but I left it up to her. I only asked that she pick something bright. I prefer flashy/bright polish colors. When Jasey emerged from the nail salon and got into my car, I looked down to see she had went with an awesome shade of blue. I knew people were going to love these photos for that fact alone. Watching Abby squish her toes in cheesecake all those years ago was so fun! The following blog entry is a repost of an old column I wrote back in May 2001 for my old site, The 10 Little Piggies. This is the first of a handful of old columns that will be added to the Soles of Silk Blog over time. This is the first time they've been available in over 10 years and with this repost, I have added some photos from the sets that are mentioned. Since I began photographing female feet on a hobby and art basis, I have always been reluctant to ask any model to step in some kind of food. I thought that the models would see that idea as being too funky or even having sexual connotations. Lately it seems that every model I photograph wants to step in something.
