Monday's Shoot - Ava & Charlee
For a few months now Ava and I have been talking about shooting her first sets of 2025. Our schedules didn't mesh too well to start off the year, but we finally found a Monday to get in some much needed camera time - that being today. My aim was for us to shoot four to six sets. This week's Soles of Silk update will see her last remaining unpublished set added to the site, so I really wanted to get some new content with Ava in the books.
As our shoot date drew near I asked Ava what she thought about the possibility of having Charlee come by for a couple sets. The two of them shot together back in 2021 and I absolutely loved the two sets they did with one another. Ava said she was game so I asked Charlee. She agreed in a heartbeat. And there I was as happy as can be. With how amazing those two sets from 2021 turned out, I had high hopes for anything we'd shoot today.
The three of us planned to meet up around 4 p.m., but I was running a little behind. I was bouncing in between several stores getting some clothing items for today's sets, which put me about 30 minutes behind schedules. That ate into the time I planned to use to set up my light kit before Ava and Charlee arrived.
Ava arrived just as I began assembling my kit. The delay didn't set us back too much, thankfully. We were underway a short time thereafter. Up first would be one of Ava's solo sets. Charlee was yet to arrive, but would join up with us soon. As a matter of fact, she arrived just as we were starting the set.
With this originally being Ava's day I planned to shoot several solo sets of Ava and then do two with Ava and Charlee together. Due to the slight delay and not being able to shoot too late into the evening, what ended up happening instead was Ava shooting one solo set and then Ava and Charlee teaming up for three duos. I'm not complaining! Plus, that just means I'll have to find some time for Ava again for her solo sets. Oh darn!
Anyhow, enough talk. Onto these sets!

Set 1: Can't Go Wrong w/ Sneakers
I feel like every single shoot Ava and I do will always involve sneakers. She knows I love them and knows that I love her big feet in them without socks. She doesn't even ask if she should bring a pair. She just does. She'll show them to me before we start shooting and knows I'm going to tell her to use them. That happened again this time, which helped because we didn't have too many concrete plans going into today. We were going to be spontaneous, which often yields great results more times than not.
Hopefully Ava's next shoot will allow for her to shoot a set similar to one Kelsey did a couple years ago featuring a bunch of sneakers from past sets. Ava has most of them in a storage unit, however, which she didn't have time to go through for today's photos. That's okay though. It gives us a theme for her next shoot.

Set 2: Playboy
I waited until the last minute to come up with ideas for today's sets. Work was long and tiring this past weekend and my brain was mush. I figured I'd be able to go shopping and find some outfits and/or props to use as I often do, especially for the team up sets with both Ava and Charlee.
While at the mall I saw some fun Playboy shirts at the first store I visited. Sadly none of them were the right size for either model. I left and visited several other stores without much luck. Then, in one of the last stores I visited, I found some more Playboy shirts, this time with matching boy shorts. Best of all, the sets cost less than the shirts I saw earlier. I bought them, along with the matching outfits in the next set. I did, however, go back to the first store because they also had Playboy knee high socks that I thought would be a fun addition.

Set 3: Varsity Club
The second outfit combo I picked up while buying the ones above featured a sporty look with the words, "Varsity Club" across the chest under the year 1985. These were also super cheap, but too good to pass up for a set I know both girls wanted to do with one another - a blue ball busting set. Charlee and Ava have both done this theme in the past and even included a couple of the balls above in one of their sets back in 2021. They weren't featured prominently in that one, but I figured this was the perfect chance for them to go all out this time around, which they did.
If you love when these two get bratty in their solo sets, seeing them do it together, all while still showcasing their fun-loving nature, makes this set one you won't want to miss. Although I loved all of the sets shot today, this one might just be my early favorite. That's been known to change once I post these sets and weigh them against one another for my annual favorites rankings. As of now though, I'd count on this one to be up there among the top.
I'd ask Charlee what she thinks is her favorite set from today, but I'm still waiting on her to finish her 2024 Star Model Interview, so it might be awhile. Yes, I just threw you under the bus, Charlee. Sorry, had to. Get me that damn interview! Love you no matter what!

Set 4: More See Through Flip Flops
As I was set to leave the mall I saw a bunch of shoes in a store window with cheap prices. I looked them over and was ready to walk away when I saw some more see through flip flops.
You all know that I've been using a pair of clear flip flops in sets with various models over the last couple of years, including both Charlee and Ava. Well, this store had both blue and pink ones, so I turned back and went in. After looking around for a few minutes I found the rack with these shoes and luckily they had both Charlee's and Ava's sizes. I grabbed them and paid not even thinking of what set I was going to use them. Remember, my original plan was to only shoot two duos, which I had already bought outfits for.
Of course I thought about this walking out to the car and figured that since they were blue flip flops I could put them into the Varsity Club set. Then I thought that flip flops and the whole sporty look of that set wouldn't really work. That's when I said screw it and I'd shoot both models in three duos instead.
Now I just needed another outfit for them to wear to match in a third set. I had already left the mall, but thankfully my go-to store, Five Below, was on the way to where we were meeting up. I found a couple of cute pink shirts that I thought would contrast with the blue flip flops nicely. And they did.
With these four sets in the books both Ava and Charlee had to get going. I would have loved to have with them all night, but all good things must come to an end. That's okay though because I will have these two back together again for sure. Hell, maybe we can find a third person to add to the mix and see how fun and crazy that gets. I have a few ideas, but I'd love to see who you'd add to this amazing duo.
