Monday's Shoot - Ava
It's been almost a year since Ava and her powerful size 9's have been in front of my camera. We aimed to shoot regularly in 2025, getting in her first and only photos in March last year. She did a solo set and then teamed up with Charlee for three more. We never found time to do anything else for the rest of 2025. So yeah, I've been wanting some camera time with her.
With it being so long since we last shot, Ava was also looking forward to this. We have been talking for a few weeks about making this shoot happen and as a matter of fact, not only did I tell her she could shoot today, but I also told her I'm free next week for some more. While next week won't be solo sets, Ava should be getting in a few more sets alongside the likes of Charlee, Kelsey, and Audrey. I've asked all four to come by for an evening of team ups, including at least one four model set. It's been ages since I've shot a set with four models, so that should be fun!
I don't want to get too far ahead of myself here by talking about next week, though. I'll be back here sharing all that once it's captured on camera. What I'm here to show off today is the three sets Ava and I did a few hours ago.
It was great catching up with her. She hasn't missed a beat. I didn't have to give too many instruction at all. She just tossed out pose after pose that I loved and wanted to snap. I guess that was a good thing because we were both quite chatty since we hadn't seen each other in so long and I was running my mouth so much while focusing on those thick wrinkles.
Anyhow, let's take a look at these sets.
Set 1: Happy St. Patrick's Day
In the days leading up to this shoot Ava and I were tossing out ideas. She mentioned doing something for St. Patrick's Day and I was immediately game. It was funny too because she sent that message while I was in line buying some props for Kelsey's shoot last week. Right next to me was some St. Patrick's Day merch and I thought about getting out of line and just buying it right then. Since the line was moving slow, however, I figured I'd just get it before Ava's shoot.
Naturally this meant that when I ran to the store to buy it, it was gone. Yup! Nowhere in sight. This caused me to have to run to a few stores, but a Dollar Tree saved the day. They had a ton of stuff and cheap too. No arguments here. I grabbed it and made my way to Ava's. It was the first set we shot and it was so flashy and fun.
Set 2: Black & White
If you haven't noticed I've been shooting a ton of sets with stocking over the last few years. Well, here is another. I bought a four-pack of seamed stockings with a nude/black, black/red, black/black, and white/black combo a few months ago. I had plans to use two of the pairs. I used the nude/black pair last week with Kelsey in a set with a dress.
When I showed the set to Ava, she mentioned having a black and white dress if I wanted to use it. Having the white stockings with black seams not planned for anything, I told her to bring the dress out. I've always liked the black and white combination and those stockings look great on Ava's skin tone.
Set 3: Sleepy Time!
While I was out looking for the St. Patrick's Day merch, I did come across a pair of baby blue cat print shorts. They were cute and I knew Ava would love them so I tossed them in my basket. When I turned the corner I saw a cute Disney cat shirt that was the same color. I grabbed that too. From there, I walked over to the next isle and saw all the socks. There wasn't any that matched the cat on the shirt, but I did find a multi-pack that had socks that matched the blue of both items. I grabbed those too and we used them all in this last set.
Looking for a more comfy look, Ava brought out some extra pillows, blankets, and a throw to use on the bed. It really made the blue in the outfit pop even more. I love how such a simple set can look so adorable.
Today's shoot was great for so many reasons. Ava has been such an important part of Soles of Silk in recent years. I'm glad we touched base again after only shooting a few sets in 2025. I think 2026 will see her back on a regular basis and I'm so glad she's going to be involved next week. Be on the lookout for that!
