Monday's Shoot - Audrey
A few weeks ago Audrey and I had plans to shoot a football-themed set just in time for the start of the NFL season. Some scheduling conflicts came up, so we had to push it back by a couple of weeks. That means the set wouldn't be online by Opening Day, but better late than never, right?
Set 1: Football Fan
Audrey was looking forward to this set more than any one she's shot to date. She insisted on being the model for this year's Ravens-themed set and I wasn't going to argue. We just didn't know where or what we would do. We tossed around a few ideas, but some of the ideas we had just wouldn't work out due to time and location issues.
Ultimately, we decided on a fan in the stands theme for the set. We tossed down a Raven's throw blanket and Audrey put on some Ravens gear that included a shirt, socks, a lanyard, and those stickers that emulate eye black. I thought they'd be a cute touch. I was 100 percent correct too.
Set 2: Orange Sneakers (2 Attempts)
With enough time to shoot a second set, I knew I wanted Audrey to wear the bright orange sneakers she had on when we met up. We went back to the car after the football set and she changed out of her Ravens gear. We decided on using a blue bench next to one of the park's buildings. I figure the orange shoes and blue bench would make for great contrast. Little did we know, we'd have a "Karen" keeping an eye on us.
At first we didn't notice this person, but when we did, we could tell she was clearly watching us. She was out in the middle of the parking lot, not even in a spot. She was looking our way until Audrey began waving at her. We had only shot a couple of photos, and nothing with her sticking her feet my way. So nothing would have looked weird, but nevertheless, she seemed interested.
After Audrey waved, she began to drive, but she drove to a parking spot not too far from us. She also backed in so she could be looking right at us. In the past I've had a "Karen" call the police on a shoot I was doing and didn't feel like dealing with that again, should she decide to give them a call. It's not like we were doing anything indecent, but when it comes to "Karens," it doesn't matter.
We ultimately picked up and drove to another park a few minutes up the street. There was hardly anyone at this park, but the seating was limited to all bleachers. I didn't want to do bleachers again, but I didn't want to lose time either. We found a small set of bleachers and did our thing.
As a fun little tidbit to finish up our time together, we drove back to the park where "Karen" was just to see if she was still there. Well that, and Audrey insisted on a nice foot rub before we parted ways. Karen wasn't there, so I broke out the lotion and we enjoyed a good long massage under the cover of a pavilion. Of course, within minutes, a park worker came over to clear out the trash cans, but he didn't bother us. Thank God, because I was just as excited for that foot rub as Audrey was!
