Shoots of Christmases Past

Image
Talk about 4 presents I'd love to unwrap... The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. This year's Christmas update featuring Ryan and Aspen in their  Red & White Fence Nets is one of the biggest sets ever posted on Soles of Silk. I had been itching to get these two girls together since Aspen's debut in August. They're good friends and I knew they'd bring down the house - and they did just that. With everyone focused on Ryan's and Aspen's size 8 feet this update, I want to also remind all of you new members of the Shoots of Christmas Past, if you will. There have been many other great sets that I've posted for the holidays in years prior. So for all of you who need a little bit more Christmas cheer, check out the following shoots and clips that the Soles of Silk models have done over the years: Photo Sets  Christmas Fencenets w/ Ryan & Asp

A Taste for Asian

I just find Asian women, like Aliza, to be so exotic. The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. First of all, this column is NOT about Asian food. To be honest, I don't really care for it at all. What this column is about is my soft spot for females of the Asian variety. And while I have a strong attraction to Asian girls, this column is not putting any race over the other. So what is it about Asian girls that gets me going? I don't honestly know. It's like trying to explain why you have an attraction to feet. You just do! And to make matters worse, this attraction has become stronger over the years. It's too bad I don't know any Asian my age since I'm currently single. With as strong of an attraction as I have to Asian girls, I've never dated one. In all honesty I haven't known that many in my age range. College was probably the exception and there was a

A Contest is Looming

The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. As I've done for the past few years, the first update of the New Year (January 2, 2013), will feature an all new Soles of Silk Trivia Contest. For those of you who are new, or unfamiliar with the contest, I've been doing it for several years now and it gives people a chance to win free membership time in the form of seven (7) prizes. There are two (2) grand prizes of 3 month memberships and then five (5) runner up prizes of 1 month memberships. Both members and non-members are able to win the prizes. The way the contest is scored is as follows. There are five main question groupings. The first group of questions are worth one point each. The second, two points. The third, three points. The fourth, four points. And finally, the fifth, five points. The adds up to 75 points. To make the scoring based off an even 100 points, I have a 25 point bon

Wendy was one of the first people I shot where I shared set Instagram photos. The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. When I made the Soles of Silk Twitter account ( @SolesofSilk ) a little less than a year ago, I didn't know what to expect. To be honest, I thought it might be a fad and turn out to be just as problematic as the short-lived Soles of Silk MySpace page. It has been neither. As a matter of fact, it has allowed me to reach people that I wasn't getting to before. And in turn, it has also allowed the masses to get in touch with me like never before. For years when I posted an update I always put update samples on the Soles of Silk Forum as well as in the Photos Section of the  Wu's Feet Links Forum . Those have always been amazing ways to communicate with people, and one I continue to utilize today. For the last year now, however, in addition to those forum pos

Where I've Never Gone Before...

The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. I will be the first person to admit that I am a nerd at times. Since signing up for Netflix a few months ago I've managed to watch almost every episode of every Star Trek show ever aired. Yes, I'm even counting Star Trek: The Animated Series, for those super nerds out there. Now I've come to the conclusion that someone on the writing staff of these shows has a foot fetish. I've come across numerous scenes where one of the female crew members is getting a foot massage for whatever reason. It's been too often to be a coincidence to me. And then there has been little extra foot centered shots as well. For example, a close up of Beverly Crusher's pedicure before going on a date. I've even told Abby about my theory as she is also a Star Trek nerd. So, after watching all these episodes and seeing all those foot centered scenes, I

Prepared? More Like Overly Prepared!

I have 5 sets of Mileena and her pretty feet ready to be published. The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. During the summer I had a plan. That plan was simple. I was going to shoot a bunch of sets to last me through the winter. While using those sets I would invest in a new camera. And then when the spring approached, begin using that camera for all new content. Well, that was the plan and although I followed part of it, I did go off course. If I had stayed the course I would have only needed to shoot a little more than a dozen sets because I already had a handful of them shot. I already had sets with the likes of Carlin , Charlee ,  Jamie , Wendy , and Mindee . Then Aliza agreed to return so I had two sets of hers that were never posted returned to the mix. In the long run, I ended up shooting a few dozen sets and honestly haven't stopped. I don't know if it's the new came

October 2012 News & Notes

The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. Boy did the weather take a dive this past week. Chilly and rainy has been mother nature's agenda the past few days. Hell, it has even affected the American League Division Series between my hometown Baltimore Orioles and the hated New York Yankees. And by the way, as you might have heard on TV, the "Yankees suck!" Now to get back on track. With the weather turning I've been trying to get in as many shoots as I can before it's just too cold. Yes, there are always indoor shoots, but I really prefer to shoot outside in some interesting locations. Plus, I literally have more than a year's worth of photos ready to be posted. As you can see, I'm not really hurting for photos. I've been waiting to get Olivia in front of the camera with these sneakers. Recent Set - Olivia A couple of weeks ago I asked Olivia to do a set

Aspen's Day at the Beach... Finally

Image
The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. Before  Aspen  did her first photo sets the day following her 18th birthday, we had already discussed going to the beach to do some sets.  Aspen  has always wanted to do some shots out in the sand in her bikinis. Having used Ocean City, MD a few times, I wanted to go somewhere different. I looked into Seaside Heights, NJ - the location where MTV films Jersey Shore. I had been to this small beach town as a kid and remembered a large park on the southern end of the island called Island Beach Park. I checked it out on Google Earth and found all kinds of potential places to use. When I told  Aspen , she was very excited at the prospect. A few weeks ago  Aspen  and I had plans to do an all day trip to Seaside, but the weather forecast called for an 80% chance of thunderstorms for the entire day. We decided to scrap the shoot and reschedule for Labor Day.  W

The Return of My Asian Sensation

Aliza is back! This set is being restored and new sets are on the way. The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. Back in October 2010 I was very excited to debut a good friend, and the second Asian model to grace the site, Aliza . She had just turned 18 and we were both eager to get her onto the site. Well, only two months later she contacted me and asked me to have her photos pulled. Without getting into too much detail, it was due to some family differences of view about her being here. Fast forward almost two years later and I decided to randomly contact Aliza about the possibility of adding her debut set back to the site. I wasn't expecting much, but was surprised when Aliza said to go for it and that she'd like to do some new photos before it gets cold. I asked her if she was sure about this because if I added her back, I won't be pulling her again. She assured me it is f

Photo Tips - Find Amazing Shoot Locations

Image
The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. Over the years I have always tried to shoot my models in unique locations. While that isn't always an option, or needed for the set, it is just something I prefer to do. Maybe it is the artist in me, but I just like to put as much creativity into my work as possible. Having run Soles of Silk since the end of 2004, I can say finding new locations isn't always easy these days. I feel like I've exhausted all my local options sometimes, even though I can always seem to find something in a pinch. But this past year I've been making use of an invaluable tool - Google Earth . If you've used the program, you know what it's capable of. If you haven't, you really need to check it out. You can download the program here: http://www.google.com/earth/index.html I used Google Earth to find interesting spots in Wildwood, NJ to shoot Jam

August - The Good & The Bad

Layla was long overdue for some new photos. We finally got to find some time! The blog below was originally published in  Soles of Silk's  Column section. It was archived and then republished here in 2016. Man, talk about a month of ups and downs - mostly coming over the last couple of weeks. There is so many things to discuss, I'm once again going to break each thing down into a category, alternating between the good and the bad. The Good: Layla Returns Have to start off with this because I was almost certain that  Layla was done modeling. I figured her Rocky Stream set I posted on the August 1st update would be her last. But low and behold, the week I posted that set (which I had held for almost two years), she emails me. We get to talking and decide to shoot again. Well, we did so on Sunday, even though it decided to rain. We didn't let it kill the day and did some great shots with her water beaded feet. The Bad: Blue Screens!!! If you've ever had a blue scr
