This week's update includes the following items:

Soles of Silk Update - May 25, 2016

Monday's Shoot - Mindee

For the last month Mother Nature has been giving me the biggest middle finger on my days off. Since I like to shoot outside, Mother Nature thought it would be awesome to have it rain every single day I've had off going back to April. So far this year I've had rain wash out shoots with Alice, Amelia, Ashlyn, and Riley twice. Hell, now that I think about it, Mother Nature also screwed me over with snow back in February when Alice and Jasey Rae were set to team up for some indoor sets.

Speaking of Jasey Rae, she's the only person I've shot so far this year, prior to today. Her shoot was back on March 14 during a warm front that passed through the area (see blog: "Monday's Shoot - Jasey Rae"). I guess Mother Nature working with me one out of six times is better than nothing.

It came as no surprise to me that today's forecast was calling for rain. This time, Mindee was my scheduled model and I was insistent on making this happen. It's been getting to me that I haven't been able to get out there and take some new photos. Although I'm not pressed for update material by any means, I've just been wanting to go out and enjoy a few hours of shooting pictures. I'm glad Mindee had the same mindset as I did about today.

Since the forecast was calling for rain I decided to go pick up some rain boots for Mindee to wear. She's never done a straight up muddy feet set, so I figured I'd work with Mother Nature and see if I could make that happen. And since the forecast said we had a little over an hour to shoot our first set, we decided to do a barefoot one before she slipped on the rain boots.

When we arrived at the park I wanted to use to shoot, Mindee and I got out to look around at some potential locations. Within 10 minutes it began to rain. So much for that forecast. We went back to the car and drove around for a bit to see if the skies would clear up. Luckily, they did and we went back to the park and shot the first set.

Mindee shot today's only set on top some lifeguard chairs.

The location for this set ended up being several bunched up lifeguard chairs that had a small boat and canoes laying on the ground below. I figured the spot would give me some different angles to work with and some neat spots for Mindee to place her feet. Although we're all here to check out Mindee and her pretty feet, I just like having a setting that is a little more interesting than the regular old couch, bench, and whatnot. I'm not against those in photos, but whenever I can, I look for different possibilities.

As this set drew to its conclusion, the skies behind Mindee were getting very dark. We could hear the small rumble of thunder over the bay. I decided to go ahead and shoot a clip and wrap things up. Luckily for me, it was still only spitting when we got back to the car. I had Mindee put her feet up on the dashboard and I shot a second clip of her pressing her feet to the windshield. I figured you feet pressed to glass fans would enjoy that.

At this point things weren't looking too promising. The skies were dark, but it seemed like it was a single massive storm cloud. The sky around that cloud were a lot brighter, so we decided to go ahead and see if we could do our second shoot. Mother Nature said, "Hell no!"

Our dumb asses had walked half the length of the park to an area I was thinking of using. As we approached the location, huge rain droplets began to fall. Mindee started snapping a few photos on her phone, which you can see above. Lightning was also coming down periodically, so we backed up off the pier. Of course, we found the next best place in a thunderstorm to stand - under some trees. So safe we are!

After about five minutes we could tell our day was probably over. The rain really started coming down. Mindee didn't want to head back to the car, however, because the trees were at least giving us a little bit of shelter overhead. I suggested we run from tree to tree to try to get to a pavilion we passed on the way. We tossed this idea around for a minute or two, but when the wind picked up and began blowing the rain sideways, we were going to get soaked no matter where we stood. So we made a run for it!

We ended up making it to that pavilion. As you can see from this video above, it was really pouring! We were drenched at this point, but stopped to get out of the rain for a couple of minutes. We still needed to run all the way down to the end of the parking lot shown in the video. Of course, my car was the red one at the very end! Good times!

There was no way I was going to suggest we do our second shoot at this point. Mindee was soaked. I was soaked. We were just miserable, but still managed to get a laugh out of the experience. Needless to say, about an hour and a half after our battle with Mother Nature, the skies cleared up and there were plenty of mud and rain puddles around for Mindee to have stepped in. The only problem was I had already taken her home for the day. Oh well, she still has the boots and those beautiful size 8 feet, so we'll just add it to the agenda for a future set... Unless Mother Nature still has it out for me!

2016 Soles of Silk Model Statuses - Part 11 of 11

One of the most common emails I get are ones asking me about a particular status of someone's favorite model(s). A few years ago I did a series that informed people of the status of all the models on the site. Since that was some time ago and new models have since made their way onto the site, I figured it would be a good time to do an all new version. With 88 models on Soles of Silk as I write this, I have decided to break the series into 11 parts, each one featuring eight of the site's models. I hope this helps you learn a little more about the status of each one of the models on the site whose work you enjoy!

Sara Swirls

When I found Sara Swirls and reached out to her about modeling for Soles of Silk, I was so excited that she agreed. We did a few sets right off the bat and then met up again to do some more. I had always hoped we would continue to work together for the foreseeable future, but that wasn't the case. For some time, Sara moved out of state and we kind of lost touch. She's since moved back, but we rarely get a chance to talk. I should reach out to her soon and see what the chance are of her doing at least a few more sets. I know I'm not the only one who misses her soft soles and plump toes.

I had talked to Shae Spreads on Twitter (@BootySoBomb) for months prior to us finally getting to work together. Shae was always looking forward to showing me her big feet and I was all about having them in front of me. Thankfully that happened when she passed through the area doing some work with another content provider. Since Shae lives in a different state, any new shoots would depend on us being in the other's area again. Shayna hasn't been on the site in over 10 years, but that is about to change. We touched base earlier this year and she's looking to pose again. I was happy to hear the news as we just kind of grew apart after she found a new job. Her plump little toes and soft soles are going to be a welcome sight to see. I'm hoping we can do several shoots this year to make up for some lost time.

I was only able to shoot with Sue Lovely one time and it was prior to Soles of Silk's opening. She was one of the site's original debut models and I was hoping she would be one of my regulars. We had talked about shooting again in the months following, but eventually Sue decided to call it quits with modeling altogether.

I met Taylor through Abby and Abby's then boyfriend. Taylor dated the boyfriend's brother, at the time, and agreed to do some photos. Sadly we only did a couple of shoots and all of the other ones we planned on doing afterward never came to be. Since that time we have kind of lost touch. I do see Taylor every so often, but she's usually with other people, so I don't want to bring up the subject in front of them. Hopefully one day I can mention it to her again and see what her interest level is. Taylor is super cute and I'd most certainly love to have her model for the site again.

Tiff was someone I worked with only once. She was seeing a co-worker of mine and was also friends with Abby. Abby mentioned the site to her and Tiff agreed to give it a try. I adored her little feet and liked the couple of sets that I was able to get with her. Sadly, Tiff and her boyfriend drifted away from everyone when he found a new job. I have no idea what she's up to these days and don't even know if Abby has talked to her in ages either.

Wendy has been someone I've shot pretty regularly since her debut on Soles of Silk. She's also someone I shot prior to Soles of Silk when I ran my free site, The 10 Little Piggies. Our long standing friendship is one that always has us talking about the good old days of art school together and one that causes us to find some neat and interesting locations. Whenever Wendy and I get a chance to shoot, we always make use of the time and take a bunch of photos too. We haven't actually shot in about two years time, however, as Wendy focused some time on her family. I did reach out to Wendy last week though. She's looking forward to shooting again once her schedule permits some time. I know I can't wait. I also have a set of hers waiting to be published and will probably be done so soon!

2016 Soles of Silk Model Statuses - Part 10 of 11

Last year Olivia made the choice to stop modeling for personal reasons. Being her friend, I totally understood and told her the door is always opened for her to return, should she ever decide to do so. I do miss getting together with her to shoot as our little adventures were always good times.

I used to date Paige Noelle for a number of months before we decided things were just better off as friends. She'd go on to pose for me a few years later and I was happy that she was willing to show off her feet. She was never crazy about hers and wasn't that into the fetish. We only got to do one set, but she had mentioned in years past that she would do some more. We just don't talk with one another that much and I don't really know what she's up to these days.

I used to work with Precious ages ago. When I began Soles of Silk and we touched base again after she left, I mentioned the site. I asked her to pose and she agreed. We shot several times, but then she seemed to fall off the face of the earth. We touched base again later and talked about shooting again, but nothing came of it before she fell off the face of the earth again. It's just like that sometimes.

Sometimes you get lucky and then sometimes you don't. That's the case with Rachel DD. I found her on Twitter and saw she was from the Baltimore area. I reached out to her and asked her about possibly posing for Soles of Silk. She told me she'd be down to do it, but that she was moving out of state within a week or two (I can't recall). So I was lucky enough to get in a number of sets with Rachel, but then unlucky in that I lost her immediately thereafter. We chat every so often on social media, but I don't really know what she's been up to as of late. I still have one set remaining of her that I will be posting soon. After that, who knows if one of us will find ourselves in the other's area. Maybe!

Reagan was overly eager to pose for me after finding out about her good friend, Kaycee, had done so in 2014. Ever since Reagan debuted, that eagerness has remained. She really enjoys posing and showing off her cute feet whenever she can. I have a few sets of hers that I have yet to post, along with two featuring both her and Kaycee together. I'm sure Reagan will also be posing for some more sets in the near future.

I was so glad to finally get Riley posing for Soles of Silk. I've always thought she was cute and enjoyed hanging around with her in the few times that we did outside of work. And her little feet... I'd love to have Riley shoot on a regular basis starting this year.

I was friends with Rose for a long time before she decided to go ahead and pose for Soles of Silk. She had always enjoyed having her feet massaged by yours truly, but it took her a while to come around for shooting. Since she has, however, it's something she has really enjoyed doing. Her cute soles were a welcome sight on this site and I'm sure we'll touch base to do some more here this year. There are also a few sets of hers I have yet to published done from our last shoot as well.

Ryan took to posing like very few have. She did amazing in every set we ever did. Then we lost touch. We used to work with one another, but she would eventually change jobs. I tried to stay in touch, but she's a very busy person and it seems like our schedules just don't match. Regardless, I still try reaching out every so often to see what she's up to, but get little to no reply when I do. I hope that one day Ryan can find some time to shoot again. I always enjoyed shooting her and she has a ton of fans out there who have been asking when her next set will go online, or if she's even still posing.
