Preview - May I Have More Mindee Again?

Two months ago Mindee owned March with the month-long event, "Mindee's March Past 7K." Over the course of that month she joined the 7K Club (7,000 photos), took place in an interview that talked about her journey from 6K-7K,  and she had her 100th set published to the site. I'd say that was a great month!

Here's the thing though. That month-long event was designed to help me put a dent into the over 30 unpublished sets. I knew that if I really wanted to make a dent in that backlog of Mindee's content, she'd need two months. So here we are again, for the second time this year, preparing for four consecutive weeks of Mindee updates. In May, I bring you, "May I Have More Mindee Again?" 

As many of you may recall, this is the second time the month of May has been focused upon Mindee. In May 2018 the first "May I Have More Mindee?" event was held. At the time, I was also faced with having dozens of unpublished sets of the site's most photographed model. Still, it's never a bad thing to have so many amazing sets of Mindee just waiting to make it onto the site.

So here we are again, two years later doing the second "May I Have More Mindee" themed event. Four more sets of hers are slated to go onto the site. Back in March I let Mindee pick the sets she wanted for the "Mindee's March Past 7K" event. For May she let one of her family members do the picking. These are the four sets that she chose:

This will mark the third Mother's Day update in a row featuring the Mindee & Shelby together.

Week 1 - Mother's Day See Thru Socks
Mindee and her mom, Shelby together again! This will mark the third year in a row that these two will be together for the Mother's Day update. I told the both of them that I would like to make this an annual thing moving forward and they both agreed. How about all of you? Does that sound like an amazing plan or what?

This set has been one I've held onto for WAY too long.

Week 2 - Mindee-Poo!
Let's just say that the person who picked the sets for this month absolutely loved this set. It's been one I've also been sitting on for the longest, shooting it back in April 2017. The whole theme stems from me calling Mindee, Mindee-Poo and usually substituting the word "Poo" for the poop emoji. It got to the point where I even left poop emoji stuff on her porch as a gag once. This is a goofy set, but if you don't have fun, then why do it?

One of the more unique settings we've ever stumbled upon. Messiest too!

Week 3 - Muddy Swamp Stumps
Shot during our attempt at the Monthly Mindee Challenge in 2019, this set was one that wasn't really planned, but came out to be so memorable. Walking around a historic park, we made our way around a bend and looked over to the swamp area. Stuck in the mud was a bunch of wooden stumps so that you could walk from one path to another. My eyes lit up and Mindee gave me that look. She knew she would be having muddy feet at that point and this may have been some of the squishiest mud I've ever seen. She said this was one of the grossest sets she's ever done. Look at that smile up there though... you'd never know. I think she liked having her piggies wiggling in the mud!

Week 4 - Pinwheels
In 2019 I finally got my wish to shoot Mindee and Kaycee together. Little did I know that I'd get the chance to do it again, but one up it by having Reagan involved as well. What made this day even more memorable was that we shot this really early one morning before we all rode out to an amusement park to ride some roller coasters. Couldn't have asked for a better day!

It will be nice to finally see all these sets on Soles of Silk. Still, I have a lot more of Mindee on the way in the coming months. With the current Coronavirus situation, it looks like I might get a chance to put a further dent in that backlog if I'm unable to shoot in the months to come. I really hope that's not the case. I'm so ready for this to be over. I'm sure Mindee and my other models are as well. So when I'm able to get all their pretty feet back in front of my camera, I'm jumping at the chance. Guess that means I'll be shooting a bunch of new content with Mindee too! The cycle never ends with having a ton of unpublished sets of Mindee. And guess what? I don't want it to!

How are Soles of Silk & I Fairing Amid the Covid-19 Outbreak?

It's trying times right now, but good content is slated to hit the site in the weeks to come.

To say we are in trying times right now would be an understatement. People are sick and even dying. Many of us live in regions where we have been asked to stay at home. Some have lost jobs and some companies have shut down. As for me, I'm staying indoors, but my job allows me to still work. I'm working less hours, but the added stress of social distancing and still coming in contact with the public makes some days a struggle.

At the start of this whole Coronavirus outbreak,  I didn't know what to think, honestly. On one news station I'd see people telling me to practically panic and prepare for the worst. On the next channel, I was being told that this isn't that big of a deal and more people die every day of other common ailments. So what did I do? Well, business as usual.

Over the following weeks, however, things started to sink in. Restaurants were shut down, unless for carryout or delivery. Mindee and I actually met up for lunch only a few hours prior to the shut down. We had planned a lunch date and even a possible shoot weeks prior. The weather was cold, however, so we scratched the shoot. Still, we wanted to see one another and made it happen hours before we could no longer do so. 

I also met up with Melani that same day, but once again, it was too cold for photos and we just hung out and talked about all the craziness that was going on. Over a foot rub, naturally.

Since that day, the only other face-to-face (for a lack of better terms) I've had with any of my models has been the ones at work. I've been in contact with a good many, however, and they're like the rest of us - they can't wait until this is all over with and they can go back to their lives. I know both Jasey Rae and Kaycee have expressed wanting to shoot again as soon as possible once this passes. Kaycee has actually been my only shoot of the year, thus far (see blog: "Monday's Shoot - Kaycee"). We all just have to wait at this point.

We're now more than three weeks in on our self-isolation request from state and local government and the only thing I do is go to work and come home. Well that, and I've been playing a lot of World of Warcraft (WoW). Blizzard did good with giving everyone bonus XP and I've been leveling up my much neglected Alliance characters - some of which were my mains all the way back in Vanilla WoW. For all you non-WoW players, sorry about the nerd speak. I'm just reporting on what I've been up to.

With all that said, if you're wondering what the state of Soles of Silk is amid this crisis, it's actually pretty good. Since I began the site I have always tried to keep an abundance of unpublished sets ready to go in case of an emergency. I always envisioned those emergencies being something along the lines of a camera breaking, or me breaking a leg or some random thing. Thankfully, I've never broken anything more than a finger in my life, which was all the way back in high school. Still, I've always wanted to be prepared just in case!

I guess it goes without saying that I would have never thought that my backlog of unpublished sets would come in handy during a viral outbreak. I can't say that I would have ever thought I'd live through something like this, even in my worst nightmares. Even past outbreaks like the Swine Flu, SARS, etc. always seemed far from home. This Covid-19, however, is in everyone's region across the globe.

So at this time, Soles of Silk is still in a good place when it comes to future content. My biggest concern right now only lies with video clip selection. Having so much content of Mindee in the can means that a lot of the clips feature her. While that's not a bad thing at all, I like to try to publish my different models on a regular basis. With the "May I Have More Mindee, Again" event scheduled for May, that will let me get a few of those clips up onto the site featuring Mindee. Then I can get the other models into the mix afterward. Should this last for several months though, my clips may become depleted. Sets, however, I should be okay with for the foreseeable future. 

Speaking of sets, one of the amazing upcoming sets coming in May is shown above. That's the site's 2020 Mother's Day update, once again featuring Mindee and her mom, Shelby. I want to have them featured annually for Mother's Day moving forward. What do you think?

I know everyone is stuck inside with the ongoing Coronavirus situation, so I thought now would be the perfect time to introduce a brand new contest to Soles of Silk. And much like Easter, I decided to make everyone do a bit of hunting. You're not looking for eggs though, you're looking for 6 different purple tickets (like the one found above).

Contest Rules
- Hidden throughout the members section of Soles of Silk are six different purple tickets, like the one you can see at the top of this contest post. All tickets will be found at the bottom of site pages, not to interfere with those browsing the site.

- There are different prize levels found on the different tickets. One (1) ticket can be found that is worth 3 months of membership time. There are two (2) tickets worth 2 months of membership time. And finally, three (3) tickets exist that are worth 1 month of membership time.
