The following blog is a repost (with some slight alterations and updates) of a column posted to Soles of Silk on Dec. 7, 2011. I'm sharing it again with great reception of the Captain America: Winter Soldier movie and the hype of the upcoming movies such as: Guardians of the Galaxy, Amazing Spider-Man 2, and X-Men: Days of Futures Past. By now you are probably aware that I am a huge comic book fan. When Mindee did her Power Girl feature set on Wu's Feetlinks and then Jamie did one with Batgirl ( Sample 01 / Sample 02 ), I knew I had the start of an ongoing series on my hands. Eventually Carlin would go on to do a Catwoman themed shoot ( Sample 01 / Sample 02 ), but that has been all that I have published to this point, although there have been, and currently are plans to do more.  Lela Beryl  even did a set with comic book cards that will be going online soon. Life. It's not always fair. Over the years two girls who I once considered among my best friends, and who also modeled for this site, moved away. Those two girls were Carmen and Madison . Those two were also two of the most popular models during the site's early years and then they were gone. Just like that. Gone! Moved away with little to no contact since. I guess they just needed or wanted change in their lives. Two weeks ago yet another one of the models mentioned she might be moving and my stomach sank. Just like it was with Carmen and Madison, I consider this girl to be a close friend. She's probably the best female friend I've ever had. This model... This friend is Mindee . I am not going to get into Mindee's business in this blog - a friend wouldn't do that. I'll just say the prospect of moving wasn't something she wanted and was trying to avoid.  I'm glad she trusted me enough to tell me - something that didn't happen with either

Lately something has been happening that hasn't happened in all my years online (including my college days running The 10 Little Piggies free site). This something is, Wu's Feetlinks has not been updated for close to a month. I've been asked on the Wu's Feetlinks Forum in threads and in personal messages about the status of the site. Sorry to say, I know about as much as all of you who are asking. While I have personally talked with Wu too many times to count over the years, I haven't done so since the last update on his site, which reads "March 27, 2014." At first I honestly thought that the lack of updates was due to BHE moving some servers in recent weeks. I didn't think much of it, but as the days continued to add up after Soles of Silk was moved, I began to wonder. That's when people started to wonder and ask. In a recent thread seeing quite a bit of response on the Wu's Feetlinks Forum titled, " Am I Missing Something?

Well, you win some and you lose some. While there are still seven days left to submit your entries for the 2014 Soles of Silk Wallpaper Design Contest , the turn out thus far has been close to non-existent. I am writing this blog as a last ditch attempt to see if people have just missed out on the fact that the contest is going on. I've plugged it here on the blog, Twitter , the Wu's Feetlinks Forum , and on Soles of Silk itself, so I don't think that's the case. I've run this contest only three times in years past with varying degrees of success. The first contest where people could do designs of Chloe , Layla , and Precious had 24 total entries. The second contest with designs based on Bethany , Jordana , and Madison saw only nine entries. The third contest, which featured Cierra , Jaylee Austin , and Lady Steph had the most entries with 29. At this point, I'm guessing this fourth installment will turn out to be along the lines of the second contest.

While 2006 didn't have has many girls (8), it did mark the return of two models from The 10 Little Piggies days and the debut of three girls who have since went on to join the 1K Club. it was a solid year and one that was memorable for so many reasons. The selfie. The dreaded mirror, or self-taken picture that has been plaguing the internet since the advent of social media. I think it's a rule for every girl online to post at least two dozen selfies on their social media accounts per week. While it's virtually impossible to escape them, there is one that can be a most welcome, albeit teasing sight - the foot selfie. Just this morning I encountered such a tease. I was just getting ready to step into the shower when my phone went off. I was close enough to grab it and since I have a Lifeproof case, I stepped into the shower with my phone to see who it was. It turned out to be Emerald . She was getting back to a text I left her the previous day. The day before I had sent Emerald a screenshot of an Instagram ( @SolesofSilk ) post I made showing her soles. It's time to run off some fun facts about Soles of Silk once again. By reading these you will obviously become smarter, get better grades in college, and probably receive a raise at work. These facts are essential to moving forward in life, so be sure to read them a few times and remember each in detail.  Fact #1:  The current trio of Marcy , Mariah , and Mindee are not the only cousins on Soles of Silk.
