Next to No Turn Out Thus Far...
Well, you win some and you lose some. While there are still seven days left to submit your entries for the 2014 Soles of Silk Wallpaper Design Contest, the turn out thus far has been close to non-existent. I am writing this blog as a last ditch attempt to see if people have just missed out on the fact that the contest is going on. I've plugged it here on the blog, Twitter, the Wu's Feetlinks Forum, and on Soles of Silk itself, so I don't think that's the case.
I've run this contest only three times in years past with varying degrees of success. The first contest where people could do designs of Chloe, Layla, and Precious had 24 total entries. The second contest with designs based on Bethany, Jordana, and Madison saw only nine entries. The third contest, which featured Cierra, Jaylee Austin, and Lady Steph had the most entries with 29. At this point, I'm guessing this fourth installment will turn out to be along the lines of the second contest.
I was really looking forward to seeing what everyone could do this time around, especially with the added feature of there being a winner for artwork based off each model this time around, which consists of the cousin trio of Marcy, Mariah, and Mindee. A 3-month and a 1-month membership prize is set to be awarded to artwork for each model, making there six total prizes up for grabs.
And speaking of the cousin trio, the girls were all looking forward to seeing the work and judging the pieces done for their cousins (not judging their own). That's right, Marcy would judge Mariah's and Mindee's, Mariah would judge Marcy's and Mindee's, and Mindee would judge Marcy's and Mariah's. I would only serve as a tie-breaker, should one occur. At this point I'm dreading telling the girls that they got pretty much no submissions at all as I don't want them to think people aren't fans. All three know that's not the case by this point. But still, it's something they're looking forward to.
At this point I'm just going to sit back and hope to see some more submissions from all of you. I love running contests on the site to reward my members and fans, but this one just seems like it wasn't meant to be.
