At about 3:30 p.m. today I tried to login to the Soles of Silk Instagram account ( @SolesofSilk ), but was met with a login error. When I tried to reenter all the account information, I was met with an error that read, "Your account has been disabled for violating our terms. Learn how you many be able to restore your account." When I clicked the "Learn More" link, I was taken to a page that mentioned violations of sexually explicit content. I have never published a single photo with any nudity, or sexual content. None of my captions have ever mentioned sexual acts, requests for them, or had URLs sending people to find such material. As a matter of fact, if/when someone posted something a little too "spicy" in the comments, I'd always delete them. I guess that just didn't matter to Instagram. A few days ago the Soles of Silk Instagram account ( @SolesofSilk ) broke the 40K follower mark. Meanwhile, I noticed something kind of neat. I don't know how I find weird stats, but I seem to have a knack for this sort of thing. During the week the site's Instagram reached 40K, the page had exactly 40 images that have had at least 1,000 likes. When I saw that, I thought to myself, "I could write a blog about it." Well, here I am. Instead of going over each of the 40 photos, I'm going to do something a little bit different. I'm going to play the stats game some more. I'm going to take a little look at all the photos in the top 40 and break them down into some categories below. Two weeks ago the Soles of Silk Instagram account ( @SolesofSilk ) hit 30,000 followers. That number is double what the account had at this time last year. Things have really taken off, which sees me fielding more questions and comments than ever before. Overall, the majority of people I interact with on social media are good people. They enjoy the photos and models I post and wish to share that with me. I have always liked hearing from people and that is happening more so now that ever before. Then... there is the other side of the story. With this increase of followers I have begun to field more ignorant and lazy people than ever before. Some take zero effort to know anything about me, or my site. They'll ask me questions that are clearly stated in my profile, or in some cases, will ask me the same information again and again over the course of weeks. It's been seven months since I've done an installment into the "Would Love to Shoot" blog series, here on the Soles of Silk Blog . For those of you who might not be familiar with these, this series looks at foot models from the online foot fetish community whose work I enjoy. I thought it would make for a nice gesture to give these models a little shout out, if you will, and go into a little detail on what it is that I enjoy their work. These are women I'd love to find in front of my camera one day, and in some instances, a number of the models found in past entries have gone on to do just that. In no way are these blogs saying I will be meeting these women, or that they'd even want to shoot with me. In many instances, I haven't even talked with the models. All too often I have to tell followers of the Soles of Silk Instagram account ( @SolesofSilk ) that I am not the model shown in the images that I post. Sometimes I tell them once, sometimes twice. Other times the same person will shoot me a message 20 times, each based off a different model I posted from the site. I've begun to block those people to save my sanity. Anyhow, this blog is just a short entry to let you know that you can shoot these girls a message. How often they're going to check and/or update these accounts remains to be seen. It was only six months ago I was writing a blog about reaching 14,000 followers on the Soles of Silk Instagram page ( @SolesofSilk ). I was so surprised to see the account grow so much at that point, but it's only grown more and more since that time. At the end of last week I was watching the follower count on Instagram sit on 17.9K for several days. I was excited waiting to see it switch over to 18K. I even sent Mindee and Alice a screenshot of the follower count and they were both wanting to see it increase. I then posted a few random photos of Mindee and Kelsey just to engage people, along with the standard update fair I do on a weekly basis. In the grand scheme of things, I'm not a follower slut, but reaching the 18K mark was still a badge of honor. I've never done a paid ad, or begged people for follows. Damn! It's been over a year since my last entry into the "Would Love to Shoot" blog series. I couldn't tell you how many times I've gotten the idea to add a new entry, only to get sidetracked by something else in life. Well, it's back and is featuring a special theme. The three main social media accounts of Soles of Silk. Over the last few weeks I've been watching the Soles of Silk Instagram account ( @SolesofSilk ) go from just over 13,000 followers to 14,000 followers. It seemed like every few days the listing would go from 13.1k, to 13.2k, to 13.3k, and so on. Well, this past weekend, the 14k finally ticked. Normally I'm not one to bring light to follower numbers. I find that oftentimes people only bring up their numbers to make themselves feel better than the next person. Well, to be quite honest, I couldn't care what anyone else has. The selfie. The dreaded mirror, or self-taken picture that has been plaguing the internet since the advent of social media. I think it's a rule for every girl online to post at least two dozen selfies on their social media accounts per week. While it's virtually impossible to escape them, there is one that can be a most welcome, albeit teasing sight - the foot selfie. Just this morning I encountered such a tease. I was just getting ready to step into the shower when my phone went off. I was close enough to grab it and since I have a Lifeproof case, I stepped into the shower with my phone to see who it was. I can honestly say, without a shadow of a doubt, I could take photos of Mindee every single day of my life and I'd never get bored of it. Seriously, I don't think there has been a shoot where I didn't have a blast taking her photos. Okay, there was the snow set that was cold beyond belief.
