In the weeks leading up to my vacation, I had nothing planned at all. Other plans had fallen through and then Jamie mentioned going to the beach. I'm not the biggest fan of the beach as I'm more of the tourist type, liking to see things, but I said, "Why not?"  We planned a trip to Virginia Beach. I had never been there, but saw that it looked to be very scenic. We planned on doing about 10 photo sets during our visit, which didn't quite happen, but we still managed to shoot seven.  Thursday, 7 p.m. We left to go down to the beach. Knowing Hurricane Arthur was approaching, we figured we would have to change our original plans during the long drive. The forecast called for high percentages of storms/rain from 6-11 a.m. on Friday. Instead of going on to Virginia Beach early on Friday and doing some locations in Norfolk on Saturday before leaving, we swapped the day around. Before 2014 began I had a vision to debut 10 new models on Soles of Silk . I thought it would be a neat way to celebrate the site being online for 10 years. Sadly, a number of potential new models have failed to come through, but over the last two weeks I've been lucky enough to have two of my personal friends pose for their first time. Last week it was Bobbie posing her size 8.5 feet - which you will see featured on the site this very week in her Fourth of July set. And today I shot the beautiful and super-sweet, Kaycee . I've known Kaycee for about a year and the term "super-sweet" doesn't even really do her justice. She's probably the nicest person I know - one of those people you can't ever see being mad at. In addition to that, she's also very quiet. For the longest time we would work together, exchange some small talk, but that would be about it. Earlier this year I did an email exchange with Wu of Wu's Feetlinks . Over the years he asked me to do feature sets for his Feature Model section on almost an annual basis. This year's model was scheduled to be Olivia and she was so happy to be representing Soles of Silk this time around. And then the updates stopped at Wu's Feetlinks. At first, no one knew why. Did Wu retire? Did he lose his passion? Was he sick? Well, it took months, but we finally found out that Wu had passed away. The entire community was saddened and we wondered what would become of Wu's Feetlinks without the main man in charge. Thankfully BHE is tending to the site with the assistance of community members.
