I set out earlier this year to do a total of 10 contests during the course of 2014 as a means of celebration for the site being online for 10 years. I ran a few larger contests such as the Annual Trivia Contest, a Wallpaper Design Contest, and then the scavenger hunt based Where's Wendy? Contest. Last week I met with Kaycee to shoot the site's Halloween-themed set, which I later wrote about in the blog, " Monday's Shoot - Kaycee ." In that blog I made mention of a girl named Felicia . Felicia was responsible for creating Kaycee's costume and doing her make up (and wounds). She's really good at that sorta thing and it is something she's been doing for years. In that blog I also mentioned that Felicia would be posing for Soles of Silk the following week. Well, today she did just that! I have worked with Felicia for a couple of years. When she was hired she wasn't old enough to pose for the site. After she turned 18, however, I never approached her as I had this idea in my head that she'd flat out refuse. As you can plainly see, I was wrong about that! A few days prior to Kaycee's shoot Felicia mentioned that she'd like to also pose for Soles of Silk. It's been a few weeks, but I finally got to pull out my camera again for a female willing to pull her feet out of her shoes Or is it boots? Or maybe knee high socks? Perhaps some well-worn Vans? Well, in today's case, it was all three. All year long I have been trying to book a shoot with Ashlyn . She posed for her first and only time (until today) back in mid-August of 2013 (see blog: " Sunday's Shoot - Ashlyn "). Back then she had red hair and now she has black. But one thing sure hasn't changed - she's a total sweetheart! Since neither of us are morning people we decided to meet up in the afternoon for her first shots of 2014. One of the location I wanted to use was about an hour drive. It's called Yards Park right by the National's stadium in Washington, D.C. Ever since her debut last year, Ashlyn has had an idea she's been wanting to do for a shoot. This location was perfect for it. More on that later. With a Nationals game scheduled

On Wednesday I was lucky enough to be able to meet up with Jamie and do her first new shoots of 2014. Since I only had a few hours open that day before I had to be in for work, we decided to on shoot back-to-back days. I wanted to try to get in three new sets and there wasn't enough time to do that on Wednesday - especially since we did a pedicure stop first. If you haven't read the blog, " Wednesday's Shoot - Jamie ," check that one out first as this is kind of a continuation from the day before. It might even be the first time in 10 years that I shot the same model on back-to-back days. Maybe not, but I can't recall ever doing it off the top of my head. On both Wednesday and Thursday I was worried about the rain. The forecast call for rain both dates, but we lucked out on Wednesday.When I woke up on Thursday, however, there was a steady drizzle. Ever since our last shoot (see blog: " Today's Shoot - Colleen "), Colleen and I have been talking about doing another shoot. Our initial plan during our last shoot was to do three sets, but it was just too hot and we decided to just save it for another day. Well, today was that day and we shot two sets, not just the one we missed out on last time. I picked up Colleen around 1:30 p.m. and we were on our way downtown. Mindee had showed me a neat location during our last shoot (see blog: " Today's Shoot - Mindee ") and I decided to head back down there for at least one of Colleen's sets. When we arrived no one was around at all. We walked the entire waterfront area and decided on a spot with a unique view. Two benches, made from recycled ship parts sat side-by-side on a promenade where you could see the nearby sugar plant. Docked at the sugar plant was a large ship where cranes were busy offloading product from its compartments. For this first set

When I woke up on Sunday I was very excited. I was set to shoot with a new model - one with a different look than most of the girls you'll find on Soles of Silk . "Punky" might be the best term I could use to describe her, but I'm not even sure if that is accurate. Whatever the term, this new model, whose name is Ashlyn , certainly has a style all her own. But before I give the details of the day's happenings, a little back story is in order. Some time ago I was at work when this girl with bright red hair came in. She made me do a double take. I found her to be really cute and ended up telling one of my coworkers. He informed me that she's the older sister of one of our younger coworkers. I left it at that since our coworker is young and I didn't want to ask him to introduce put me to his sister. I thought it might be better not to bring that up at work. Well, from one fan boy to many, here is what it was like working with the owner of two of the highest arches you'll find anywhere! Friday, July 8 - 3:30 p.m. With the car packed my brother and I leave to pick up our friend for the seven hour trip up north.
