Now that 2018 is here, it is time to take a look back at the year that was 2017 on Soles of Silk . A lot of sets were shot this year, with a handful of models really making the most of multiple appearances. A handful of blog series saw a lot of user views here on the blog. Then you had so many great sets published to the site itself that people just loved. Do you see some of your favorite memories from 2017 here? It's the end of 2017 and it's time to once again list my 10 favorite sets of the year. These blogs are always fun, but challenge me beyond belief! Trying to compile a year's worth of content into just 10 favorites and then take those 10 and rank them in order... Yeah, it's hard! This year I tried a new approach. I began compiling my list in June in draft form. Every few updates I'd return and add in new sets and bump out others. It seemed to be working a little better for me doing it that way, but the hardest part still remained. What order to put the 10 favorites into? Well, I think I finally got it - even though I changed a set here last minute before publishing. Ugh... I loved so many of them! Numbers... numbers... numbers... Sometimes I find it fun to look at the different statistics of my models over a certain time span. Whether it be in a year, like I do with my Star Model blog series, or over the course of their careers, like I do with the 1K, 2K, and so on Clubs, I just like recognizing their accomplishments. Well, in 2017 one model totally broke records and set marks that I don't know if anyone will be able to surpass - both in a calendar year, or even career. That model is Mindee . Every year since 2015 I have named a trio of what I've come to call, Star Models. Star Models are the models who shot the most photos during the calendar year. Earlier this year, my curiousity got the best of me and I went back and did a retroactive series of blogs looking at the site's Star Models from 2004-14. With every year now covered, it's time to look at the year that was 2017. I have to say, 2017 was a strange year. I didn't shoot a ton of models, but the ones I did shoot, shot quite a bit. Some of my regulars, such as Kelsey and Kaycee , models who were featured as Star Models during the last two years, didn't shoot a single set in 2017. Most surprisingly, Alice , who has shot 11 sets each year she's modeled her size 11's for the site, earning a Star Model spot both years, is absent from this year's list.
