Sometimes things just don't go your way. Sometimes they don't your way and then you try to make the most of it. And sometimes you do that and you still don't have things go your way. That was today in a nutshell. My original plans for today were to meet up with Alice and Kayleigh's sister, Camille, to do a bunch of sets. We came up with all kinds of themes for solo and duo. Alice is always excited to pose and Camille has been itching to make her debut, but these two were even more eager to be doing some together. I was really looking forward to the shoot as well, but then Mother Nature happened. Last night when I checked the forecast for Monday it called for cloudy with low chances of rain after 6 p.m. Well, this morning I woke up to a text from Camille asking me if we were still shooting. Earlier this year Kaycee and I were having a conversation about getting together for photo shoots. She told me she would be up for me asking her to shoot last minute if I had an opening or if someone cancelled on me. Well, today I had an opening and Kaycee was more than happy to squeeze in two, well, two and a half sets. More on the half set in a bit. I picked Kaycee up a little after 11 a.m. and we made our way to our first location. I had come up with a theme for one set for the day, but we were saving that one for last. This set was just going to be a simple one at a spot she shared with me a few months ago - one we didn't end up using on a previous shoot. Kaycee and I made our way to the back end of this small park and decided to do the set next to a small metal foot bridge. This layout was implemented in 2014, but relies heavily on older existing structures. For some time now I have wanted to do a total overhaul on Soles of Silk when it comes to its design and structure. To be 100 percent honest, I am a much better designer when it comes to print materials than web. I only learned basic HTML coding and am self-taught in Dreamweaver. I've been using it since it version 1 - when it was owned by Macromedia. Since then, I've learned enough to get by with what I need. The happens of last week, however, just might have forced me to learn something new and might actually be a blessing in disguise! Early last Wednesday morning, after I published the July 29, 2015 update, Windows had a critical update. Like an idiot I had my Windows updates set to automatic and the computer downloaded the update on its own and restarted.
